"Whistling Death". So called by the Japanese in WWII, unlucky targets of the Vought F4U Corsair. Affectionately known as the "Bent Wing Bird" by its courageous pilots, the Corsair dominated the Pacific Theatre throughout the war. Used to famously devastating effect by VMF-214, "The Black Sheep" squadron, the Corsair was rugged, fast, lethal, and more than a match for its nemesis - the Japanese A6M ZERO.
